Assignments

Assignment:
Students will create an original animation, using many of the skills learned.  This animation or movie may be used in the final project, so think about what topic you would like to develop and really upload to the WWW. The grading rubric is based on the following items:

bulletUse tools to create at least 5 symbols for use in this movie (accidental symbols by motion tweens don't count).
bulletCreate at least 5 layers in main scene, of which only 1 layer is used for background.
bulletMust use a motion guide and motion tween to move something appropriately
bulletMust use drawing tools to create some original graphics
bulletThere must be interactivity such as buttons that link or mouse-overs which start some animation, or switch scenes.
bulletMust use more than one scene.
bulletUse at least one motion tween that is not using a guide
bulletUse at least one shape tween (useful to change color or shape)
bulletUse at least 4 different actions—could be stop, onRelease-Play (or other event to start playing), getURL (a hyperlink), or goto & play.
bullet May use imported Clipart if you trace bitmap & change color or graphic (may edit in Photoshop if needed)
bulletMust have smooth, logical movement
bulletNeeds a background scene, which you should try to draw
bulletIt must be unique, show time and effort.
bulletExport movie as .SWF

Examples:

(1)   Your original Flash creation could be used as a splash page, which a visitor comes to first when they arrive at your site.  If so, I suggest you give them a choice of watching the flash animation or entering the site before waiting for all of it to download.

(2)   You could create a cartoon or interactive movie on your topic or tell a story.

(3)   You could use Flash to do your entire site, and your original flash could be some scenes you could include in this.
