If I cannot use FrontPage Navigation, how can I create graphic navigation?

Create graphics that you wish to use for navigation in Photoshop, or online at some free button site such as www.flamingtext.com .  (Text on buttons must be the same size on each button.)  Your buttons should be saved as JPGs or GIFs with a reasonably small download time (~2 seconds).  Import them into your FrontPage Web site using File Import.

Layout of buttons in FrontPage:

The client wants small buttons to be in a horizontal row below the banner, so insert a table in the desired location with 1 row and as many columns as you have buttons.  In the table properties, set the border as 0, width at some desired percent, and horizontal alignment as center.  Say OK to get out of the table properties.  Select your new table, go to Cell Properties and choose center alignment.

Now that the table is created and aligned, click in each cell and insert the image for a graphic button that you saved in your images folder.  Right-click on the image and choose Picture Properties.  Add alternative text and resize (only if needed).  You can even add the file to hyperlink to here, if you want.

Linking your Buttons to Other Pages

After you insert an image in each cell (home button on the left is recommended), check to make sure each is centered in its cell.  On at a time, select an image and click the Insert Hyperlink button.  Choose the Web page you want to link to.

Once you have done all of them, you can copy the entire table to another page.  From the Table menu, choose Select Table.  Ctrl-C to copy it, and then go the location/page where you want to paste the table.  Ctrl-V to paste it.  Right-click, choose Table Properties and set horizontal alignment at center.

If you don’t want a border around your buttons: Right-click on each image and go to Picture Properties.  Make sure your  border is set at 0.
