Hugh and Bill
Jan. 2002
Brahman cattle sometimes
get bad stereotypes of being mean and hostile animals.
The Brahman animals that
cause this bad reputation are usually the product of being raised and
conditioned this way due
to poor handling practices, intentional neglect, or mistreatment.
However, there are still
some Brahmans that are handled correctly, but still are naturally ill-tempered.
Every breed of cattle has
some nasty ones.
As this web site will show,
not
all Brahman cattle have bad dispositions.
I raise gentle Brahmans.
My
philosophy on the disposition of American Brahman cattle.
Hugh was specially bred and
selected to be a gentle animal. I will not own a nasty, ill-tempered
animal.
Hugh has the most docile
disposition of any Brahman bull that I have ever encountered.
Still that does not make
him totally safe.
See my
precautions for handling Brahman bulls.
